Fashion face off: Kate vs Meghan
Sibling fashion show downs are something we all know if we have siblings, especially sisters. But to hear of a fashion showdown between sister in laws is something which can be quite foreign to hear, but these two Princesses are here to show the world that they are the fashion idols of the world. Styling two Duchesses in styles which are classic, classy, and traditional to being part of the monarchy, but that are also complementary to their own individual style is an art form not all of us have. When being raised into a Royal institution is one thing, you claim the traditions and styles from a young age, however being your own woman and marrying into a family who are not only in the limelight but are also at the top of the social food chain so to speak, is something which not all women can do, and quite frankly I think Kate and Meghan do this extraordinarily well.

VICKY PATTISON – HALTER NECK MIDI DRESS - LIME
Let’s start with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Bright colours, bold prints, longer sleeves, below the knee skirts, and fitted pattered trousers is the style the future Queen of England goes for, and to be honest, no matter what Kate is strutting, she always looks flawless. With her husband William being the heir to the throne as the King of England (after his father of course), Kate must obtain a style which always oozes royal charm. Being a member of the royal family comes with a specific dress code; modest, elegant, classy and the less skin shown the better! And Kate had that mastered from early days, with her own twist of colours and patterns as an added touch.

Kate has never really had a ‘bad press day’ when it has come to showcasing her outfits for royal duties. With more royalty worthy colours for day-to-day events, like greens, blues, reds, and yellows in Kate’s pallets, with the addition of prints, the duchess chooses styles which speak for themselves. While for evening occasions, she pulls out some showstoppers like that emerald, green sequin number she wore in India.

Now, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has had it a little harder than Kate. Although Megan has followed in suit with the dos and don’ts of dressing like a duchess, she has brought a new lease of life to royal attire, with brighter colours, asymmetric styles, jumpsuits, leather skirts and jeans with a nice top combo, bringing a sense of a more modern yet classic modesty to her attire.

As we all know, Meghan used to be a Hollywood actress, showing off her skills in award winning binge worthy TV, so when she became part of the royal family, that classic Hollywood fashion had to of course be altered to more elegant evening gowns and less party dress. Over the years, Meghan has been sometimes slammed in the media for her choice of outfits, styles, and colours. For her day to day looks, depending on the event, Meghan has pulled some style out of the bag which can seem jaw dropping for a princess, leather skirts and blouses, the classic jeans and a white shirt or military style midi dresses. However, when it comes to evening wear, Meghan has got a certain flare, with bold vibrant colours like yellows, blues, and greens, or contrasting looks with red and purple. When pregnant with Archie, Meghan wore a navy-blue sequin gown, round neck, long sleeves, and fitted enough to show of her bump.

GODDIVA ONE SLEEVE SEQUIN MAXI DRESS - NAVY
It’s one thing trying to be the most fashionable sister without trying to be the best dressed while in the media, but I think we can all agree that Kate and Meghan both have an incredible love for fashion and they both make the outfits look better!

Yes, they have their own individual looks, but their occasion fits are quite similar. The pair are always keeping up with the latest fashions and trends, or sometimes pulling something fantastic out the bag making it fashion frenzy with brands competing to have the best look a like style at a fraction of the price the princesses pay.
In my opinion, I think both ladies dress to impress and choose styles which not on flatter their amazing figures but also complement their individual personalities and show us their taste in fashion.
