Cat Woman
Inspiration:
For this look, you may want to start with the eye make-up. There will be a lot of black eyeshadow applied, so starting with the eyes means that any dark eyeshadow that drops onto the cheeks wont ruin your base make-up. Begin with a heavy flick of eyeliner. Gel eyeliner can achieve the best results, looking glossy and defined, like Seventeen Smolder Eyeliner, £3.99. You can use this on both the upper and lower lids to achieve the shape you want. Then use a black eye shadow applied to the eyelids, such as No7 Stay Perfect Eye shadow in 'Carbon Matte', £7. Create a feline fan shape with your eye shadow brush. You can use a homemade stencil if you want to make sure that you get the shape symmetrical on both eyes. Fill in the shape with the black eye shadow. Apply some feline shaped false lashes - the bigger the better, like Eylure Double Lashes style 204, £6.99.
Base:
This look is all about creating dramatic, feline eyes, so your base make-up can be kept fairly natural. Some contouring of the cheekbones and jaw line will make your overall look stronger, so you may like to use Sleek MakeUp Face Contour Kit, £6.49. To achieve this, Apply under the cheekbones, beneath the jaw line and either side of the bridge of the nose.
Lips: Use a dark mauve shade to compliment your eyes and base, finished off with a clear lip gloss to enhance the lip shape.
Hair: Use a straightening iron to straighten out all the hair in sections. Once all the hair is straight and smooth, brush the hair back into a sleek, tight pony tail. The pony tail should be very high, either on, or above the crown. Use hair spray to ensure the hair holds, and shine spray to give it a glossy finish.
Dress: Make a statement in a full sequin party jumpsuit part of our ultimately New Look Dresses collection in sequins. For a finishing touch put on a pair elegant black silky gloves and sexy black heeled sandals. To accompany your fun and flirty look go for a cat ears headband.
Mermaid Inspiration:
Begin with your base make-up; foundation and concealer if required then add some highlighter to the cheekbones, like High Beam from Benefit, £19.50, for a pretty, shimmery glow. You can also apply a small amount to the centre of the forehead and down the bridge of the nose.
Eyes:
This look requires the use of glitter in gold, silver and turquoise shades. In order to help the glitter stay put, you can begin by applying a small amount of Vaseline to the skin in the areas that you want the glitter to be applied. This helps the glitter to 'stick', keeping everything neat and tidy. Apply gold glitter beneath the eyes, working outwards and downwards from under the lashes. Then you can apply some false eyelashes upside-down, just beneath the lower lash line. On the eye lids, use a bright blue or turquoise eye shadow across the lid, for example Rimmel Glam Eyes Mono Eye Shadow in 'Posh Peacock', £4.49. Then begin to add blue glitter from the lash line upwards and outwards. Add a little silver glitter on top and over the brows. Finish the eyes with a flick of eyeliner and some mascara - you can use blue or black.
Lips:
As the eyes are the main feature for the look, we have kept the lips nude, with a lip gloss such as Bourjois Effect 3D Lip-gloss in 'Beige Elastic', £7.99. Finally, add a dot of glitter to each cheek. We have used a bright green shade mixed together with a small amount eyelash glue so that the glitter sticks to the cheek.
Hair: Curl the hair using a wand or curling tongs. Once all the hair is curled, make a centre parting in the hair. Do 2 small French plaits at the front of the hair, one on each side, coming down to just behind the ears. Fasten with hair grips. Back-comb all the remaining hair from where you have pinned the plaits into place, leaving you with pretty, disheveled curls. Finish with hair spray.
Dress:
For the dreamy look of ever young mermaid go for a Maxi Dress from our romantic Prom Dresses collection or Evening Dressescollection. Peplum will help you imitate the fins. We suggest choosing the colours of the sea world: blue, green and all kinds of shimmering. Finish the look with the accessories featuring sea stars and shells.
Red Devil
For this dramatic look, you want to go a few shades lighter than usual with your foundation. This is so that your skin looks fairer and the red make-up really stands out. Use a blood red shade of blusher beneath your cheek bones, applied with a fan brush for a devilish twist on a contoured look. Mac Powder Blush in 'Frankly Scarlet', £18, works very well as a shade for this.
Eyes:
It's easy to create coloured eye lashes in any shade you like. Choose a set of false lashes, and before applying them to your eyelids, you can use red nail polish to paint the false lashes from the base of the root to the tip. Leave for at least 5 minutes to dry before you apply to your lids. You can use the same blood red blusher shade as eye shadow on your eyelids. Apply heavily from your lash line, then blend outwards and upwards, extending right out towards the temples. A fine flick of black eyeliner can also be used here.
Brows:
You can use a red lip liner on the brows, such as Maybelline Color Show Lip Liner £3.99, - apply in short gentle strokes; you don't want this to look too heavy, just a little hint of red will really enhance the look.
Lips:
Choose a lip shade that matches your blusher, a deep red such as Sleek MakeUp True Colour Lipstick in 'Candy Cane', £4.99.
Hair:
Using a curling wand, curl the hair in small sections. Leave the hair to cool down while you do the make-up. Once the make-up is complete, pull the hair back into a pony tail. Back-comb out some of the curls; the finished look should be a big, full ponytail of wild curls.
Dress:
If looking good is a sin, then going for a sexy red devil is the best option for Halloween. For a fierce combination go for a full sequin mini dress with cross back from our Girls Party Dresses collection, red fishnet tights and heeled sandals. It's probably the only night when you can pull off this look so why not have all the fun? To channel your luscious Lucifer add red horns and a trident.
