Things We Learnt From New York Fashion Week

1) The biggest trend to surface was Rave with newly appointed Brit designers Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier of Marc by Marc Jacobs (or MBMJ as they are trying to rebrand it) calling it first. Expect to see the second summer of love (or would that make it the third?) coming to a wardrobe near you. 2) VB does flats!!! Yes you heard it right, Vicky Beckham purveyor of high heels has designed her first shoes this season for her label and they were FLAT! 3) The new wave of Brit models gave the likes of Kendal Jenner et al a run for their money – enter Hollie May Saker, Malaika Firth and Sam Rollinsonruling the runway and walking at more shows in NY than Ms Jenner has had hot dinners. 5) The Fashion Show just got more exciting. It’snow not enough to have a traditional catwalk show, the new watch word is “experiences”. Polo Ralph Lauren showed us how it’s done by (prepared to be impressed here) showing a 4D HOLOGRAPHIC LIGHT SHOW PROJECTED ONTO A FOUNTAIN OF WATER SHOOTING OUT OF A LAKE IN CENTRAL PARK!
