Tonight is set to be a big night in the music and fashion industries!

September 8 is the night of the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards 2009 which awards the best music albums from the United Kingdom and Ireland. It’s a great night for women as almost half of the nominees are female! I can't wait to see what they wear! They all have their very own unique taste which is quirky but gorgeous!

Expect to see great performances by Florence + The Machine, Bat For Lashes, Speech Debelle, Dublin's Lisa Hanigan and La Roux.

Lady of the ex punk girl band, Kenickie, one time Xfm DJ and host of various music related programs on telly: Lauren Laverne is hosting the awards!

The show will be broadcast on telly on Friday night – should be good as all 12 album of the year acts will be performing. The CD is available now to buy and what a great track list it is!
