London Fashion Week is 25!

by Goddiva Fasion 18 Sep 2009

Happy Friday everyone!

Today marks the beginning of the 25th Anniversary of London Fashion Week!

From 18 to 22 September London Town is going to be buzzing with top designers, great fashion and plenty of celebs!

Keep an eye out for Adidas by Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood Red Label (Carrie Bradshaw would have a front row seat!!), Matthew Williamson, Twenty8Twelve (Sexy sisters, Savannah and Sienna Miller), John Rocha and the wonderful Carolyn Massey who will all be making appearances in the next week with new lines!

And with a 25th Anniversary to celebrate, there will be plenty of bar and club hopping going on...

Happy 25th Birthday LFW!!
So with my fine tuned research skills, I have managed to find a few hot spots to be seen at over the next week:

Picture the scene: after a long day’s work at one of the shows, working or watching the shows for that matter, and you are feeling a little peckish and fancy a cocktail or two... get yourselves over to one of these cafes or restaurants:

Sushinho in Chelsea

Sushinho in Chelsea

A restaurant and cocktail bar infusing the Brazilian and Japanese cultures (today Brazil is home to the largest Japanese community outside of Japan) has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere for drinks and dinner and for those who have had dinner and fancy a superb menu of cocktails, Sushinho’s cocktail bar is located downstairs away from the diners.

Paramount in Central London

Paramount Private Members Club occupies the top 3 floors of one of London’s very first skyscrapers, completed in 1967. Rising 385 feet above the city of London, Paramount offers spectacular views of the city while you wine and dine and a champagne and cocktail bar with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Gallery Mess in Chelsea

Inside Gallery Mess

The Gallery Mess Cafe/Bar offers a delicious menu from breakfast, snacks and lunch to dinner, drinks and cocktails. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoors. With regular works of art on display, it is a perfect setting for foodies who are lovers of the arts as well.

Wahaca in Covent Garden

A Mexican market style food hall, offering a healthier take on traditional Mexican food. They don’t take any bookings and food is served as soon as it is ready. They also have a great cocktail bar and serve wonderful tequila cocktails!

*****

Now that your belly is full and you fancy a dance, make sure you make it to at least one of these bars or clubs to dance the night away:

Bombay Sapphire Dusk Bar in West London

Bombay Sapphire Dusk Bar

The Dusk Bar is a pop up bar situated on the River Terrace of Somerset House. It was designed by Tom Dixon who took inspiration from the blue hues of the Bombay Sapphire bottle. The venue itself is split into sections: the middle is covered by a large white parasol with heaters attached to it while the open-air side sections are more like a beer garden and the corner tables make it feel like you have your own private area. Very Very nice indeed!

Dalston Superstore in East London

A great night out

The Lovely Dalston

The Dalston is one of THE hot spots in Shoreditch. Fashion conscious and arty, with visible pipes and concrete walls it has a definite industrial/urban feel and offers great music from disco to electro and some big name DJ’s too.

Cable in East London

Situated in a tunnel on Bermondsey Street, Cable is a great venue for a club with high arched ceilings and exposed brick walls. It has plenty of chill-out areas created by interconnecting rooms and tunnels – so as well as large and airy dance floors, there are the quieter spots to seek refuge for a quiet drink.

Barts in Chelsea

The Bar

The Decor

A lovely venue which takes you back in time slightly... The decor is inspired by the jazz, big band and bebop clubs of way back when and the staff uniforms are reminiscent of the American Diners in the 1950’s. Soft lighting and a great playlist provide a wonderfully relaxed and soothing atmosphere.

*****

So ladies – get yourselves out there this week – there will be plenty of places to see and people to meet.

Let us know if you spot/meet any celebs while you are out and about please!

Have a blast!
