Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year? Back to business then...

Even though we are still smack bang in the middle of Winter, fashion houses have already started their lines for S/S 2011 and after having a little looksie over the last couple of weeks. Get excited, get very excited 

Key colours hitting the catwalk this S/S 2011 are named after flowers - so poppy, daffodil, geranium and iris. Just like their names, these colours will be worked into floral patterns and designs.

Other key colours for S/S 2011 include hues of blues and greys for an updated nautical look. Iv'e also noticed that pearly, subtle colours have been used with luxurious materials to emmulate that warm summer breeze that glides over your sun kissed skin. These colours will also enhance any sun that you have caught and in turn give you a warm, rosy summer glow

We're looking at classic cuts this upcoming season - so think 60's / 70's style shift dresses / full skirts / wide leg trousers / bell bottoms, capri's and crop tops. In keeping up with the trend, your look should ultimately say: classic but current.

S/S 2011 70'S Inspired

The maxi which was a must for last year goes sheer and sexy this season, with sheer cut outs making their way into the design of our fave maxi dress. Along with sheer cutouts, crochet and lace are our old faithfuls for S/S and they are again making an appearance in 2011 - cool and demure, these materials should be a staple in any Spring/Summer wardrobe!

Although most of us are desperately broke this month... these trends are for you to keep in mind for when you start on your S/S wardrobe shop. Rule of thumb is to always feel comfortable and confident with what you are wearing - don't be a slave to fashion.Make it work for you!
