Emmy's 2009 - The Glitz and Glamour

Emmy Statuettes

Downtown LA[/caption] September 21 marked the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards in LA which means the celebs of our fave TV shows were out on the red carpet giving it their all. Winners included some of my fave telly shows! Alec Baldwin won Best Leading Actor for 30 Rock and rightly so... the whole drama with Kim Basinger and his daughter gave him a bit of a psycho-tag, but his hilariously quirky character on 30 Rock has certainly lifted that thunder cloud a little!

Alec Baldwin accepts his Emmy Award John Cryer: Best Supporting Actor for Two And A Half Men Toni Collette: Outstanding Actress for United States of Tara Jon Stewart: Best Variety, Music or Comedy Series for The Daily Show with John Stewart Kristen Chenoweth: Best Supporting Actress for the now cancelled Pushing Daisies Get the full list of winners here! The general trend for the ladies styles was maxi with soft and flowing materials. Neutral tones, reds and purples seemed to be the flavour of the night, some with sparkles, some very fitted and some flowing with open backs and low cut fronts – all in all a lovely and elegant feel all round. Take a look at what the Emmy bloggers said about the general style and trends for the evening. Everybody really did look amazing but my personal faves were: Chloe Sevigny, Drew Barrymore, Heidi Klum, Kourtney Kardashian, Hayden Panettiere, Mila Kunis, Ginnifer Goodwin, Julia Louise Dreyfuss, Jane Krakowski, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael Kwanten. The lovely Michael Kwanten of True Blood fame Chloe Sevigny: My favourite dress of the evening Ginnifer Goodwin of Big Love TV series The ever youthful Drew Barrymore Julia Louise Dreyfuss Jennifer Carpenter & Michael C Hall of Dexter Hayden Panettiere of Heroes Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock Kourtney Kardashian and Bump Heidi Klum, Seal and their Bump
